I’ve never really thought about the fact that librarians have to select and purchase what goes into the library as well as catalog it… but now that I’m reading this job description, it makes perfect sense. Librarians seem almost like “the DJs of the school” – selecting a good mix of curriculum for the students for both the library and, by your job description, for some of the teachers as well. It must be very rewarding to be able to help choose those books and media that will be shaping the minds of the future.
